Watercolor ~ Dennis Rafferty

This course will explore the 8 principles and elements of design as it applies to watercolor painting. The focus will include traditional watercolor techniques including clean wash, wet on wet and dry brush with an emphasis on light and color. Students will explore the unique attributes of watercolor, including such tools of the trade as special papers, brushes and pigments. All Levels.
Tuesday Evening

Jewelry & Metalsmithing ~ Alice Carroll
7 or 14 week session ~ ($195/$390) ~materials fee $35/$70
This course will cover the use of basic hand tools and the primary techniques in making jewelry and metal objects. Learn about hot and cold connections, piercing, surface decoration, finishing, and a variety of advanced ways to manipulate metal. Beginning and Intermediate students welcome.
Ceramics: Wheel Throwing ~ Amy Clark
7 or 14 week session ~ ($195/$390) ~ materials fee $40/$80
An introduction to the basic techniques of throwing on the wheel, tooling, and form design. Work in stoneware; learn glaze techniques and fire to cone 10. Studio fee: includes 20 lbs. of clay, glazing and firing. All Levels.
Drawing into Monoprinting ~ Brandy Cressey
7 or 14 week session ~ ($195/$390)
Drawing is the foundation course that enhances every artistic form. Instruction covers basic volume, light, and shadow in black and white. The immediacy of drawing lends itself to monoprinting a single image printmaking process – which can be also reworked with drawing after the fact making for unique results. All Levels Welcome.

Drawing into Painting ~ Brandy Cressey
7 or 14 week session ~ ($195/$390)
Mastering the tools and techniques of expression through drawing and paint. Composition, color, structure and spacial dynamics will be explored. Move from drawing into painting in either Acrylic or Oil. All Levels.
Advanced Painting: Critique ~ Susan Wilder
14 week session ~ 2 Credit Class ~ call for details
Advanced painting encourages students to work toward developing a related body of work while nurturing self-analysis and critical thinking. Students will work in either oil or acrylic. Projects will be self-directed.
Wednesday Afternoons

Achitecture in Watercolor ~ DeWitt Hardy
7 or 14 week session~ ($195/$390)
This course will explore architectural subjects such as buildings, windows, doors as well as interior subjects so that students will able to draft a rough sketch of any space considered as a subject for a painting. Buildings exist in the landscape and basic art elements will be examined in this relationship including composition, value and color.
Train with a Master Watercolorist. Some watercolor experience necessary.
Thursday Afternoons

Beginning Pastel ~ Wade Zahares
7 or 14 week session~ ($195/$390)
Pastel is a spontaneous medium which offers the immediacy of drawing combined with the richness of color painting. Soft pastel (sticks of pure pigment) afford an ease of color blending. Different papers and pastel grades will be explored as well as basic composition and color theory. All Levels.
