WATERCOLOR Dennis Rafferty
This course will explore the 8 principles and elements of design as it applies to watercolor painting. The focus will include traditional watercolor techniques including clean wash, wet on wet and dry brush with an emphasis on light and color. Students will explore the unique attributes of watercolor, including such tools of the trade as special papers, brushes and pigments. Intermediate students welcome.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $15.
CERAMICS: RAKU Amy Clark
Raku, a Japanese firing technique translates as “beauty by chance.” Clay is fired to 1900 degrees and removed from an outdoor kiln at full temperature. The ceramic piece is buried in a can of sawdust to reduce the chamber of oxygen, creating copper lusters, turquoise blues, crackling and iridescent glaze effects. Wheel throwing and handbuilding explored. Studio fee includes 20 lbs of clay, glazing and firing.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $40.
ILLUSTRATING IN PASTEL Wade Zahares
Exploring Illustration in pastel. Pastel is a spontaneous medium which offers the immediacy of drawing combined with the richness of color painting. Soft pastel (sticks of pure pigment) afford an ease of color blending. Different papers and pastel grades will be explored as well as basic composition and color theory. Learn to develop images based on text references such as short stories, poems, memoirs etc.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $25.
CERAMICS: WHEELTHROWING Amy Clark
An introduction to the basic techniques of throwing on the wheel, tooling and form design. Work in stoneware; learn glaze techniques and fire to cone 10. Studio fee includes 20 lbs. of clay, glazing and firing. Intermediate and advanced students welcome.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $40.
JEWELRY & METALSMITHING Alice Carroll
This course will cover the use of basic hand tools and the primary techniques in making jewelry and metal objects. Learn about hot and cold connections, piercing, surface decoration, finishing, and a variety of advanced ways to manipulate metal. Intermediate students welcome.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $35.
PAINTING (ACRYLIC & OIL) Jane Adams & Susan Wilder
Mastering the tools and techniques of expression through the medium of paint. Composition, color, structure and spacial dynamics will be explored, as well as the creation of a cohesive body of work. Weekly crits encourage verbal expression. Beginning and advanced students combined in an active studio environment.
$195 each session. No studio fee.
WATERCOLOR II Carl Schmalz
Intermediate wet-on-wet watercolor studies. This class will include continuing experience in color harmony, its theory and practice as well as an exploration of various subject matter including still life, floral and landscape .Weekly demonstrations will reinforce each lesson. Some previous experience with watercolor recommended.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $15.
CERAMICS: HANDBUILDING Amy Clark
This handbuilding class will focus on form, texture and tactile experience. Students will learn how to construct and build with the plastic qualities of clay. Patterning and glazing will be an integral part of the finished pieces. Studio fee includes 20 lbs of clay, glazing and firing.

CUISINE IN ART Berri Kramer

PRINTMAKING: ETCHING DeWitt Hardy
Copper plate etching. Learn from a master how to prepare plates, use hard & soft grounds, aquatints, step biting, proofing editions and registration of multiple plates. Papers, inks and press work investigated. Some experience in drawing recommended but not required. Beginning and advanced students welcome.
$195 each session. Studio fee of $90.
